Vancouver

This was our trip to Vancouver at the beginning of this month. We went because Cassie had a course to attend so I had some time to roam around and see the sites. It just so happened that they had the grand opening of their new convention centre so I went to see what all the fuss was about. This is the convention centre from the outside!

This would be the front foyer. The place was HUGE!!
This was the basement exhibition hall. Probably the biggest room I have ever been in. Over 200,000 sq. feet! They had Hummers hanging from the ceiling!
On the main floor and throughout the building their walls consisted of multiple board ends just glued to the wall. It was really cool looking, but I am sure it was a painstaking process.
Just next door to it stands the old convention centre, which I am sure many of you have seen pictures of. At least in Canada it's a pretty famous site.
Here is more of the interior. Even though its hard to tell, the walls here are all made with those board ends you saw earlier.
This is a rather dark shot of the main ballroom, which is still massive. They had a Cirque De Soleil type act going on in here where people where twirling down from the ceiling on sheets.
And this is just a neat little shot of the hotel we stayed at. We really did enjoy ourselves!
